The Top 7 Best Home Remedies To Treat Damaged Hair
Hair damage is something that none of us can escape from. No matter what we do, hair tends to end up looking frail, weakened and damaged.
Mostly because of our busy work lives and pollution, and even sun damage, our hair loses its natural shine and texture. It is stressed to use an SPF for the face and body no matter what.
But what about the hair? Does the hair not suffer the angst of sun damage? Of course it does!! However, sadly, we do not spend enough time in caring for those tresses.
You could try wearing a scarf or a hat every time you go out in the sun or pollution. But that is just too much of an extreme step, don't you think?
It would be an incredible hassle to always remember to take a hat or a scarf before going out. And then there's the damage caused by heat-styling tools and other kinds of products that we use on our hair, as well!
These products may give a good short-term result; but in the long run, the chemicals are doing nothing but ruining our hair in the process. So, here are a few easy ways to treat that damaged hair, which you should have a look at.
Butter:
Massage a little butter on to your hair, paying special attention to the damaged areas. Tie it into a bun and then shampoo and condition your hair as usual after 15-20 minutes. The butter would provide nourishment and shine to the hair and ensure that it looks less dull.
Aloe Vera:
Yes, the miracle skin product is also great for the hair! It contains vitamins and enzymes that could be great in treating the hair shaft. Massage aloe vera gel on to the damaged areas as a pre-wash treatment. You can even use aloe vera gel after washing your hair as a leave-in conditioner for your hair tips. It is non greasy, which makes it great for this purpose too.
Banana:
A banana pack is great for treating damaged hair because the potassium in bananas slowly heals the damaged roots and hair tips to give way to shinier, healthier hair.
Olive Oil:
Warm up a little olive oil and massage the warm oil on to your hair, focussing a lot more on the ends. Warm oil massages are great for increasing blood circulation in the scalp and for giving a nice shine to the hair.
Coconut Oil:
Coconut oil is one of the most moisturising oils that is available for both the hair and body. It can seep deep into the scalp and provide the nutrition required to treat all the damage. Massage warm coconut oil on to your hair and scalp, and wash it after one to two hours. Leaving it overnight would be even better.
Eggs:
The protein content in the eggs makes it a great mask for damaged hair. You can mix egg whites in your shampoo and use that mix as a mask for your hair. The shampoo being there prevents the foul smell from lingering on after the hair wash.
Avocado:
Mashed avocado is another great ingredient to use as a mask for damaged hair. Mash an avocado with a fork. Make sure that it's a smooth paste, and apply it evenly on the lengths of your hair. Avocados are rich in monounsaturated fats, proteins, vitamins, potassium and other minerals that are great for treating damaged hair.
