Basic Tips To Prevent Ingrown Hair
It is embarrassing to have a whole load of ingrown hair on your hands and legs. Ingrown hair or ingrowths look like tiny bumps on skin. They occur when hair grows within the hair follicle instead of outside the follicle.
It is painful to touch and it can get infected if it is not removed. There are effective home remedies to remove ingrown hair. Home remedies are better than chemically treated creams as natural ingredients don't hurt your skin.
On the other hand, body scrubs too can be used to remove ingrown hair. Usually, scrubs loosen the hair and they also help in to getting rid of dry skin.

Many dermatologists say that these bumps can also get infected leading to folliculitis.

What is Folliculitis?
Folliculitis occurs due to the blockage of the hair follicle. Boils or pimples might form in the hair follicle which then itch and lead to pus formation. When pus forms in the follicle of the hair, it becomes sensitive to touch. The skin around the ingrown area also gets inflamed and this rises to advanced skin problems.

What Causes Ingrown Hair?
Ingrown hair is caused due to improper methods of hair removal. Not waxing or shaving properly are the most common reasons for the formation of ingrown hair. Dermatologists state that during waxing or shaving, the skin is not completely stretched to remove the hair. This left out hair then recoils and begins to grow inside the hair follicle itself. This eventually leads to clogged pores, and due to the ingrowths, folliculitis is formed.

How To Prevent Painful Ingrown?
To prevent ingrown hair, one needs to follow certain instructions before and after waxing or shaving.
While shaving legs and hands, shave in the direction of the hair growth and not against it. After shaving, massage the area with a homemade cream of honey and salt. This tip helps prevent ingrown hair.
Before waxing hands and legs, cleanse the area with soap in order to remove all the dirt and dust particles on the skin. This tip prevents infection after hair removal and also helps remove the hair from the root.
Before waxing or shaving, exfoliate the skin for at least 10 minutes. This helps in loosening the ingrown hair, making it easier to be removed during the hair removal process.
Instruct the waxing technician to stretch the skin and wax properly. This basic tip helps prevent ingrown hair.
