The month of May is full of celebrations and festivals across India. These festivals are famous and are celebrated at a grand level. Jyestha month begins after the full moon of Vaishakh month. According to Hindu Calendar, Jyestha month has started from 06 May 2023.

Taurus Sankranti
There are a total of 12 Sankrantis in a year. When Sun God changes his zodiac sign, it is called Sankranti. At this time Sun God is situated in his exalted sign Aries. On May 15, 2023, Monday, leaving Aries, the Sun God will enter Taurus. Since the Sun is about to enter Taurus, this day is called Vrishabha Sankranti.
Apara Ekadashi
Apara Ekadashi fast will be observed on the Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha of Jyestha month. This time this fast will be observed on 15 May 2023, Monday. According to religious beliefs, fasting and worshipping on the day of Ekadashi frees man from all kinds of suffering.

Pradosh Vrat is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This fast is observed on the Trayodashi date of every month. A total of 24 Pradosh fasts are observed in a year. Pradosh Vrat of Krishna Paksha of Jeshtha month is on 17th May, Wednesday. Since it is on a Wednesday, it is called Budh Pradosh Vrat.
Masik Shivratri
Monthly Shivratri fast will be observed on the Chaturdashi date of Krishna Paksha of Jyestha month. Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati are worshipped on this day. It is said that by fasting and worshipping on this day one gets the blessings of unbroken good fortune.

Vat Savitri fast
Vat Savitri is worshipped on the new moon day of Krishna Paksha of Jeshtha month. On this day married women worship the banyan tree and keep a fast for the long life of their husbands.
Shani Jayanti
Shani Jayanti falls on the day of Jyestha Amavasya. Shani Jayanti will be celebrated on Friday, May 19. Shani Jayanti is celebrated as the birthday of Shani Dev.
