'Aarurukshuh' (Desirous Of Achieving) And 'Aaroodhah'(Attained Achievement)
Man, in achieving his objective, finds himself in two distinct positions; that of desirous of climbing the heights of achievement, and that of having already saddled on the throne of achievement. The former is like the one on the ground, looking for a ladder to climb to the roof-top. And the latter is like the one, who is sitting relaxed, comfortably on a chair, on the roof-top enjoying the breeze.
The former is 'Aarurukshuh', the latter, 'Aaroodhah' in the language of Krishna in Bhagvad Gita. Only those, who are reflective among men, can define an objective, become 'Aarurukshuh' first and then seek to become 'Aaroodhah'.
Krishna whispers in the ears of 'Aarurukshuh' and 'Aaroodhah', the secret of climbing and the secret of staying in the saddle.
“Aarurukshoh Muneryogam 'Karma' Kaaranamuchyate I Yogaroodhasya Tasyana Shama'h Kaaranamuchyate II" Bhagavad Gita Ch: VI (V: 3)
"Sir! what is the means - the ladder - with which, one who is desirous of climbing - climbs the heights of achievement -?," is an inquisitive inevitable question of a sincere seeker.
"It
is
'Karma'!
-
It
is
work!
hard
work!!
And
there
is
no
other
way!
No
other
short
cut
-!!,"
is
the
cryptic
answer
of
Krishna.
Looking with awe, at the fellow seeker, who has already climbed and sitting pretty at the top, the seeker cannot contain himself from asking another question: "Very nice Sir! How has he not yet had a towering fall like Jack and Jill, who went up the hill to fetch a pail of water!! I have found many breaking their crown!! What is the means, with which he has held fast to his position of achievement?" .
Krishna replies clearly: "It is 'Shama'! It is the composed mind, calm mind, untrapped mind, uncluttred mind!!
'Karma', the work is the means of reaching the heights of achievement in life. And 'Shama', the tranquility is the means of preserving the achievement so gained in life.
