Sri Ramakrishna, the Spiritual Scientist

An attempt is made here to portray this great spiritual personality as a spiritual scientist. How is he Scientific in his spiritual domain? Let us see. A scientist observes some phenomenon, wonders and ponders about it at first. But he is not satisfied with this alone. Based on certain relevant speculations, he conducts some experiments. Based on the results obtained, he arrives at a conclusion whether his speculations are correct or not and if he finds they are correct, then only he makes a bold statement about the phenomenon observed and causes for its appearance in nature and then puts forth his theory before the scientific world for its acceptance.
All these activities of the scientists come under the purview of five senses, but the observations made by the realised souls come under the purview of the sixth sense called the super sense developed by a highly intuitive and meditative power of the mind.
Spiritual experiences of Sri Ramakrishna are unique. He realised God not in one or two spiritual disciplines but in many. There is a specialty in him. Whatever may be the God, having any particular name and form, would merge finally with the ultimate absolute reality, the Brahman only, losing its individual identity. As examples we can quote some instances.
First he realised his most beloved deity Kali-the mother (KaliMata) whom he finally realised as the embodiment of para-Brahman itself. Similarly, he realised some other Hindu gods like Maruti, Sita Mata etc, etc. Of all these, the rea1isations of non-Hindu gods like Jesus Christ and Mohamad the Prophet and further realizations of their merger with the Absolute-Reality-the Parabrahman. which is attribute-less, are interesting, heart striking and eye-opening.
Great souls like Kabir and others cried out loudly that Ram and Rahim are not two but one. Bhajans like "Easwara Allah tere nam, sabko sanmate de bhagavan" the essence of which is that Easwara the god of Hindus and Allah the god of Muslims are one and the same by name, are being sung high in the air. But the people who sang this bhajan melodiously with melodious musical instruments or the leaders of the nation who stand on high platforms and quote these sacred lines in their eloquent speeches to bring unity between the two religions have not realised spiritually the oneness of Allah and Easwar. But Sri Ramakrishna was successful in this task.
