Makar Sankranti 2024: 10 Mantras To Chant To Get The Blessings Of Sun God
Makar Sankranti, a festival celebrated with immense fervor in various parts of India, holds deep spiritual significance. It marks the transition of the sun into the zodiac sign of Capricorn and symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness.
This year Makar Sankranti will be celebrated on 15 January 2024. Chanting mantras during this auspicious time is a practice that enhances spiritual connection, mindfulness, and positivity. In this compilation, we present 10 uplifting mantras associated with Makar Sankranti, each with its unique meaning and purpose.

1. Mantra: "ॐ आदित्याय विदमहे वायुपुत्राय धीमहि, तन्नो वायु: प्रचोदयात्॥" (Om Adityaya Vidmahe Vayuputraya Dhimahi, Tanno Vayu Prachodayat)
Meaning: "Om, we contemplate on the son of Aditi (the sun god), may the wind-born one inspire our intellect. Let the Wind God guide us."
2. Mantra: "ॐ सूर्याय नमः॥" (Om Suryaya Namah)
Meaning: "Om, I bow to the Sun God." Chanting this mantra is believed to invoke the blessings of the sun for vitality, strength, and divine energy.
3. Mantra: "ॐ ग्रां ग्रीं ग्रौं सः गुरुवे नमः॥" (Om Gram Greem Graum Sah Gurave Namah)
Meaning: This mantra is dedicated to Guru or the spiritual teacher. Chanting it is believed to bring wisdom, knowledge, and guidance into one's life.
4. Mantra: "ॐ ह्रीं क्लीं बृं भृं सः बुधाय नमः॥" (Om Hreem Kleem Brahm Bhram Sah Budhaya Namah)
Meaning: Addressed to the planet Mercury (Budha), this mantra is chanted to enhance intelligence, communication skills, and mental clarity.
5. Mantra: "ॐ ह्रां ह्रीं ह्रौं सः सूर्याय नमः॥" (Om Hraam Hreem Hroum Sah Suryaya Namah)
