Mahashivratri 2024: This Place Is Called Lord Shiva's Sasural (In-Law's Home) And It Is Located In Haridwar
We all know that Lord Shiva resides in Kailash. From here he handles all the work of the universe and solves the problems and troubles of the devotees. But do you know where Lord Shiva's in-law's house is?
The great festival of Maha Shivratri is about to come, on this occasion, we give you information about Lord Shiva's in-law's house. It is noteworthy that this year the fast of Mahashivratri will be observed on 08 March 2024.

Where Is Lord Shiva's In-Law's House?
According to mythology, Daksheshwar Mahadev, or Daksh Temple, located at a place called Kankhal, 4 km from Haridwar, is the place where King Daksh conducted a huge yagya. In this, all the Gods and Goddesses of the universe, sages, saints, and Mahatmas were invited. But Lord Shiva was not invited to this yagya. Seeing the insult done by her father and the terrible situation, Mother Sati could not bear it and lost her life by jumping into the sacrificial fire.
Lord Shiva's Curse
When Lord Mahadev came to know about this, Lord Shiva became very angry. He had King Daksh's torso (head) cut off by his follower Veerbhadra. Then there was an uproar in the entire universe. Then, with the request of all the Gods and Goddesses, Lord Shiva gave life to King Daksh and attached the head of the goat for a new life. In this situation, King Daksh felt very repentant and after realizing his mistake, he apologized to Lord Bholenath.
Construction Of Temple In Kankhal
Located at a place called Kankhal, 4 km away from Haridwar, this temple, known as Daksheshwar Mahadev or Daksh Temple, was built by Rani Dhankor in 1810 AD and was renovated and rebuilt in 1965. This temple of Lord Bholenath is named after King Daksh Prajapati, father of Goddess Sati. This temple has a lot of recognition. It is believed that by performing Jalabhishek here in Shivratri, all the wishes are fulfilled.
