Ganagapur Temple Of Dattatreya; Unbelievable Facts And True Incidents
Everyone of us, mostly heard of ghost stories from our friends and relatives and laughed away their horror stories dismissing them off as figment of their imagination.
Come to the temple at Kalburgi and have a first-hand experience of the demons, spirits, black magic etc. The temple of Ganagapur is a spiritual paradise that rules the spirits with an iron hand.

It is a place famous for dispelling negative spirits and bringing a positive frame of mind in the devotees.
The Guru of Ganagapur Narasimha Saraswati was born in the fourteenth century.
He was considered as the second incarnation of Dattatreya and he was a sage and a guru who settled in Ganagapur for his last 20 years.
Lord dattatreya is the first guru for the people of Nath sampradaya, Aghoris, Naga sadhus and millions of devotees in Gujarat, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.
Ganagapur is famous for its two temples, the Nirguna matha and sangam teerth both of which have extremely powerful vibrations. People take darshan of the Lord in a very unusual way here. Taking a holy dip before entering the temple makes them receptive to the holy spiritual vibrations from the temple.
Sacred Audumbar: There is an audumbar tree under which sage Narsimha Saraswati meditated for years. After a holy dip into the rivers, devotees pray and prostrate before the tree.
Bhasma Hill: Bhasma is very important in the rituals conducted here. Lord Vishnus penance and yaga here created a mound of ahses known as Bhasma hill.
Vibhuti procured from Ganagapur is known to release them from evil spirits. Hence after praying before the fig tree devotees apply bhasma over themselves. Many carry the Bhasma to their homes as well.
Nirguna Padukas: Nirguna padukas of Shree Narsimha Saraswati are preserved in the Nirguna Matha, where in the devotee after applying the bhasma sits in front of the padukas of Shree Saraswati.
Then the devotees sit under a shade and read gurucharitra. If they have specific desire on mind, they would sit there for 3 to 7 days and recite Gurucharitra till their wishes are fulfilled.
Nirgun Padukas have a healing energy and people feel that Datta talks to his devotees through his Charan padukas.A special mention must be made about the madhyanha aarti that is conducted in this temple.
Just before noontime, when sun passes exactly above the tower of the sanctum of this temple, the atmosphere changes. When the aarti just begins, people affected by dark energies, and ghosts start screeching and cursing, swearing in a very profane language.
These possessed people climb on bars, swearing that they will teach a lesson to Datta. They curse their family, their gods and their parents as well. This is due to the effect of Dattatreya who forces these spirits out of the victims bodies and the spirits struggle with the divine forces.
When the sound of the madhyanha aarti reaches the peak, these people get all the more restless, bang their heads on the walls and go literally crazy.. This is a scene only meant for the bravehearts, They go out of their control as Datta removes their negativities that are gripping the victims.
Few possessed people start climbing up a pole and scream "datta leave me". If they climb up the pole three times, they will be relieved of the spirits, and this happens usually more on Thursdays.
When Aarti stops, people collapse on the ground, like dead bodies for a few minutes after which they get up as if nothing happened and get back to the temple to thank Datta. There is no trace of the demons and goblins now.
Prime Benefits Of Gurucharitra: Many devotees have reported themselves to be free of mental or physical diseases after reading Guurcharitra. People with mental diseases are cured here after spending a few days at Ganagapur.
Reading chapter 8 from Gurucharitra would blesss you with intelligent kids. Reading the fourteenth chapter from Gurucharitra after taking a holy dip, in the rivers, jobless get lucrative job offers.
For financial loss, the best remedy is to read eighteenth chapter. If someone is suffering from evil eye or is possessed. Reading chapters twenty and twenty-one will protect them.
