NRIs have contributed significantly to the spread of awareness about our culture. For them it is the time to reconnect back to their roots. It reminds them of home sweet home in USA and they celebrate the culture and roots which take them on a journey back to their homeland, mentally. They mingle with people of other ethnicities to make them understand us better. Australia with such a huge population of Indians, celebrates Holi with equal gusto. Here are some descriptions of festivals that are celebrated in all global corners.

Nepal

Nepalis are true blue Hindus and hence they are naturally enthusiastic about Holi Celebrations. Khatmandu hosts the best Holi in town. People of all ages participate.
United Kingdom
London, Birminghan, Manchestor and other places get busiest as Holi arrives on the scene. People use dry colours, and other Holi items and hit the streets with a riot of colours. Holi processions, singing, and dancing are the main theme of the celebrations.

Dubai

Wonderland Park, and Al Garhoud in Dubai, are the unofficial venues for thousands of visitors who celebrate the Holi spirit getting drenched in swirls of colours, whether they belong to Muslim or Hindu religion.

United States of America

People have a unique idea of celebrating Holi here. They go on a 5 km marathon known as colour run, wearing pristine white clothes to allow people gathered around them throw colours on the runners. The colour splashing is accompanied with tunes of appealing music.

Spain

Spaniards are party lovers that play Holi with aplomb. Loads of Gulaal, water guns followed by dances complete the picture of revelry and fun. Holi parties see the presence of a score of attendees.
This festival is slowly gaining prominence in other countries as well. This is how other ethnicities understand the Holi festival, Barcelona is very familiar with Holi celebrations and it celebrates its own version of holi called the Tomatina festival where tomatoes are used instead of colours.

South Africa

This is yet another country with a large NRI population. Bonfires, holi songs, colour wars keep the spirit of the Holi alive. There is a large part of Gujarati community that chooses this time to celebrate it the way they fancy.

Singapore

Tamil language is predominant here. Singaporeans enjoy Holi to the best of their spirits and abiltiies. Water colour fights, among other activities remind us of home but not in its entirety.

Canada

Canada is known for its Punjabi population wherein on every Holi, students at British Columbia at Vancouver form a multicultural melting pot and Holi is celebrated in its truest spirit there.
