Happy Dussehra 2024: Vijayadashami Messages To Send To Your Friends And Family
On 12 October 2024, Dussehra or Vijayadashami is being celebrated all over India. Dussehra comes from two Sanskrit words, 'Dush' means evil and 'Hara' means destroying. Although Dussehra celebrates the victory of good over evil, the stories behind the festival are different in different parts of India.
In North India, the festival celebrates the victory of Lord Ram over Ravana, and therefore, effigies of Ravana are burnt on this day.
In the Eastern parts of India, the killing of Mahishasura by Goddess Durga is celebrated and in South India, Dussehra is celebrated to mark the victory of Goddess Chamundeshwari over the demon Mahishasura.
Celebrate Dussehra or Vijayadashami by sending these messages to your friends and family.
