Lord Venkateshwara, the family god of Telugu speaking people in Andhra Pradesh, receives traditional ritualistic worship on this Asthanam Ugadi usually every year.

All local temples under the banner of TTD perform this maiden festival at the beginning of the year annually. TTD also celebrates Ugadi at Mahati auditorium and other places in collaboration with TTD Welfare and HDPP wings.

Koluvu is also known by another name of Asthanam which is actually the divine court or Asthanam of Sri Ventkateshwara and it is celebrated in the Ghanta Mantapa. There will be a daily asthanam which is a daily ritual, that is conducted in the presence of a few officers and priests. Here God is treated as a Royal with A Court and attendants who gather in the Gods assembly. That day after the first bell, Sri Venkateshwara Swamy is ushered in to the Golden Entrance along with His consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi in the Sarva Bhupala Vahanam. His Commander Vishwaksena is found on another south facing pedestal.
Asthanam Ritual
As a part of the pre-dawn rituals, Tirumanjanam ritual goes on from 6 am to 9am. The process of cleansing starts at Ananda Nilayam up to Bangaru Vakili using Parimalam, an aromatic blend of ingredients. Visesha Samarpanam and Shuddi were performed to appease Lord Venkateshwara in the morning after suprabhata seva. The suprabhata or pre-dawn rituals are held in secret and when God is brought out to the public view in procession he becomes visible to all. Utsava idols are drawn out in procession decked in beautiful silks around the Vimana Prakaram and dwajastambham.
Lord is presented with silk Angavastram and Veshti, offered food and akshat. During the Asthanam panchang predictions with reference to the nation are asked and answers are suggested. Neerajanam (camphor diya) is lit and the karpoorarthi is offered to the Lord after which Prasad and teertha are distributed The Maha Asthanam or Ugadi Asthanam is an elaborate ritual that is celebrated along with several Officials, Vedic scholars, archakas and devotees.
