SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCE OF HAVAN
This Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra describes two aspects of Lord Shiva. One aspect shows the God who is fiery with three eyes. The other aspect is of the protector and the nurturer of the Universe. It is believed that there was a time when there was no concept of death. But the Earth was getting congested and the resources were depleting. So, Yama was given the responsibility to bring death to human beings and restore the balance of nature.
Due to this the human beings started fearing death and living on Earth became a greater suffering. It was then Lord Shiva gave this mantra to the human race to pacify all kinds of fears. Wherever there is stress, grief, illness or threat of premature death this mantra's healing powers come to the rescue.
