Diwali 2023: How To Make A Swastika In Rangoli, Avoid Making These Mistakes, Rules To Follow
Diwali 2023: If You Are Making A Swastik: In Hinduism, a Swastik is a symbol of auspiciousness. This symbol is used in every worship. It is believed that gods reside in this symbol but if you do not know the correct method of making Swastik, then it can have a negative impact on your life. Let us know what it means and how to draw it correctly.

What Is Swastik/Swastika In Hinduism? Meaning
The term Swastika is derived from three words- Su + Asti + Ka. Su means Shubh i.e. auspicious or welfare Asti means be/happen or exist. It stands for power or existence. Ka stands for doer or performer i.e Karta. It is a symbol that is associated with goodness, welfare, and auspiciousness. The dots in Swastika symbolize Harmony.
This is also a symbol of four Vedas in four directions and is also said to represent four yugas (divine time).
Each Yuga Cycle lasts for 4,320,000 years (12,000 divine years) and the four yugas appear in the following order.
Krita (Satya) Yuga: 1,728,000 (4,800 divine) years
Treta Yuga: 1,296,000 (3,600 divine) years
Dvapara Yuga: 864,000 (2,400 divine) years
Kali Yuga: 432,000 (1,200 divine) years
What Is The Correct Method Of Making A Swastik/Swastika?
The correct method of making a four-sided Swastika is as follows.
First, make three dots, then three dots parallel to it, and then three dots below that. In this way, a total of nine dots were formed. Now start from bottom to top.
Swastikas are not drawn from top to bottom but rather from bottom to top. Going upward is a sign of progress. Start joining the dots from bottom to top so that the four arms of the swastika are formed.
The direction of Swastika should always be clockwise.
It is auspicious to use Roli, sandalwood, turmeric, kumkum, or vermillion to make Swastik. Swastika should always be made in the northeast direction of the house.
The swastika can also be made at the entrance of the house, but be careful not to step on it. The most auspicious thing is to make a Swastika on your safe.
Keep in mind that if the direction of the arms is opposite then it will become a Tantric Swastika which has negative effects.
It is said that Germany's Hitler had used a similar inverted Swastika which led to his downfall. So this Diwali, make Swastika correctly and bring prosperity and well-being to your home.
