All older brothers have a tendency to treat their sisters like a kid, who is not capable of taking care of herself. Sometimes it feels good that you have your brother to take care of you, to help you and to be with you in difficult times. But at times brothers can be really over protective and stubborn, to the extent that it gets very annoying.

The problem with brothers is that they are aware of the way men think. So, when you wear a short skirt or go out with your guy friends, your brother tends to become over sensitive about it. Looking at it in a positive light, your brother is doing everything he can to make sure you don't get hurt in any way. For this reason he feels it as a responsibility to keep a check over you.

However when he really goes overboard, you need to talk it out with him. Here are a few ways in which you can deal with your over protective brother.

Don't dress too revealing: Make your brother feel secure by dressing decently. Try not to wear very revealing clothes in front of him. This will make your brother feel reassured that other guys won't pass inappropriate comments or gestures on you.

Don't lie: You have to build up his trust on you. So, remember the golden rule- don't ever lie. If you are going out with your boyfriend then tell him about it. This way he will know that he is kept informed about your whereabouts.

Avoid being too close to your boyfriend: When you bring over your boyfriend to meet your brother or family, make sure you do not get too close to him in front of your brother. He will definitely react in a negative way.

Avoid sneaking: If you like someone, then it would be a good idea to introduce him to your brother. Your brother will understand better if you introduce your boyfriend to him instead of knowing about your affair from others.

Never date his friend: Your brother is never going to like it. He will not be very happy about his friend dating his little sister. It will not only affect your relationship with your brother but also relationship with his friend.
