Do Women Get Addicted to Talking?
Women talk too much! Yes whether you agree or not, women talk too much and holding the tongue for a while is dreary for a woman. She always feels the irresistible temptation to whip out the tongue on what all passes by. Women may be the gentler sex, most beautiful creature; but they sure aren't the quieter one. From dawn to dusk, with strangers or friends, to plants and even to the goldfish in it's bowl; women can do strike up a conversation anywhere, anytime.
Research suggests that the average woman speaks nearly three times as many words per day as the average man, 20,000 spoken words as opposed to the 7000 by men. So advanced than men! Women also speak more quickly, devote more brainpower to chit-chat, and actually get a buzz out of hearing their own voices.
There are certain reasons behind the talkative behavior of women. All men love sports, love to play with electronics, gadgets and gizmos, get emotional about their cars etc... And they usually have a tough exterior. But in contradiction women are more in touch with their emotions, feelings etc... and talking is the only way to drain out her feelings and emotions to others.
There are other reasons too.Studies prove that the male hormone testosterone shrinks the area responsible for communication, emotion and memory, thereby making men less voluble, more forgetful and detached. But at the same time women have more brain cells set aside for communication. The act of talking triggers a flood of chemicals that gives them a rush akin to that experienced by heroin addicts on a high. Women addicted to the chemicals produced by the brain has no way other than talking and talking.
Women also talk more as they have many roles to play and each role requires verbosity at its best. By nature, women need to share their experiences as opposed to men who are predisposed to introspection. Of course, it is a different story that most women need to talk it out even while introspecting, even if it is only to themselves.
Another worth discussing reason is that women talk too much just because she can't live but without attraction. The most effective way to grab attention from all the corners is to talk either sweetly or irritably. Tongue is the only weapon for women to defend herself. She swings it like a sword to destroy her opponents, to fall men in the pit of love, and also to spread the rumors about all those they meet around.
As social animals, it is very important for a person to communicate with other individuals in order to maintain stable and healthy relationships with their entourage. Besides helping define who we are as individuals, communication provides a vital link to others. Through communication, we satisfy a whole range of social needs. Unfortunately, too much communication can also have negative influences. Some human beings just don't know when to communicate and when to stop. And unfortunately female beings fall in to this category.
