Health Problems During Pregnancy
When you get pregnant, you need to go through a lot of bodily changes. This is something we all hear from the experienced ladies. Weight gain, blood pressure, cramps, vaginal discharge, leaking nipples and body pain are some of the most common health problems that a pregnant woman suffers from.
Apart form the increasing baby bump and breasts, your body also goes through several other changes. For example, when you get pregnant, your skin starts stretching and this often leads to the formation of stretch marks. You either tend to look gorgeous or look dull and tired. Moreover, hair fall, mood swings and fatigue are other common problems that can cause a discomfort.
Similarly, nausea, morning sickness, headache, body pain etc are other health problems that you suffer during pregnancy. Sometimes a change can cause discomfort and irritation. However, on some occasions they may seem quite alarming.
One of the worst health problems pregnant women suffer from is, weight gain. It becomes very difficult to lose that pregnancy weight in the postnatal period. However, if you follow a strict postnatal diet, you can succeed.
Here are the most common health problems that pregnant women suffer from.
Health Problems During Pregnancy:
Backache
As the body ligaments become softer and stretch so as to allow the foetus grow. It also prepares you for labour. You can feel a strain on the joints of your lower back and pelvis.
Nausea
Morning sickness, nausea, vomiting, mood swings etc can be felt for the first trimester. For some pregnant women, ti even extended up to second trimester.
Leaking Nipples
As the breasts are preparing for lactation, sometimes, you can feel the nipples wet due to the leakage. It is nothing but the milk that is secreted during the third trimester.
Bleeding
Bleeding can be felt in the gums as well. Oral health problems are common during pregnancy. However, vaginal bleeding rather spotting can also be seen in the first month of pregnancy. However, this health problem can be serious so consult a doc immediately if you spot blood stains.
Vaginal Discharge
When you are pregnant, the vaginal discharge increases as the cervix (neck of the womb) and vaginal walls get softer and by the end of the pregnancy, the discharge will double!
Cramps
It is one of the most common health problems that pregnant women suffer from. During pregnancy, you might suffer sudden sharp cramp on the calf muscle, stomach or feet. It is a very common pregnancy problem that attacks in the night.
Frequent Urination
As the pressure on the bladder increases with the baby bump, the capacity of the bladder decreases. Thus you cannot store urine and feel the urge to pee.
Sleeplessness
Hormones are the ones to be blamed for sleeplessness during pregnancy. Moreover, body pain can make sleep difficult.
Skin and Hair Problems
Stretch marks, loose and dry skin, hair loss etc are some of the hair and skin problems that women suffer from during pregnancy.
Constipation
Hormonal changes in the body can lead to constipation. Eat foods that are high in fiber and water content.
Headache
Some pregnant women suffer from acute headache during the first few weeks of pregnancy. Apart from hormones, vomiting puts a lot of pressure which leads to headache and throat pain.
Indigestion
Hormones and the growing womb are the major causes of this health problem during pregnancy. Often indigestion is accompanied by heartburn.
