Tips For Fasting Lactating Mothers During Ramzan
Ramadan is the time of the year when Muslims fast from dawn to dusk. Fasting does not involve only abstaining from food but water also. At dusk, they are required to say their prayers and then eat whatever they wish, which is referred to as Iftar. This can be stressful for the body. But, this will be even more stressful for pregnant ladies and lactating mothers.
Though Allah has exempted a few set of people such as pregnant ladies or sick persons from fasting, they are required to take that fast at a convenient time when they are able to. Lactating mothers are also given this exemption. But, there are a few mothers who still observe the fast although they are lactating. This could be quite dangerous as breastfeeding itself is a complete burnout.
There are various fasting tips during Ramadan for lactating mothers. Fasting lactating mothers need to take special care with what they eat or otherwise, it can affect them and their baby's health. A few fasting tips during Ramadan are mentioned for fasting lactating mothers.

When it comes to liquids for fasting lactating mothers, avoid coffee and other carbonated drinks as this might lead to dehydration as caffeine is diuretic. Do not drink a lot of water overnight, try to maintain a moderation and follow a schedule.

Fasting tips during Ramadan for fasting lactating mothers recommend to avoid spicy food. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables as much as you can. Avoid all dairy products as this has a mucous production tendency and will only thicken the body fluids. To produce enough milk, make sure your body is nourished.
Work
Fasting lactating mothers should try and finish all the cooking and household chores in the night. Get your family members to support you and help you with it. Give them the reason for your fasting so that there are no bad vibes in the family. Try to get as much time for yourself. Try and keep all the shopping on a weekly basis. Try to spend as much time as possible indoors.
Prayer
Make sure you pray as it will help you relax. Try not to do too much work during the day, try to schedule the day with prayers and nap. Another important fasting tip during Ramadan is that if you are angry or overwhelmed, try to say the prayers to cool off.
Support System
For all fasting lactating mothers, try and get a good support system, talk to your family and friends. Find out from mothers who are fasting as to how they are handling the situation. When you see there are other people doing the same, you will feel better and will want to continue fasting. Always let someone know about your feelings so that they will be able to help you.
