Things Not To Do After Caesarean Section
The onset of a caesarean section delivery was only done when the mother and child were in serious danger. But today, this caesarean section is becoming quite popular in almost every hospital. Expectant mothers dread the fact of a caesarean section operation only because of its after effects. There are a number of not to things for a new mummy to follow after you have had a safe delivery via a caesarean section. This list of not to things can be quite troublesome for a new mother who just underwent a C section delivery.
For those of you who are unaware of what a caesarean section delivery is; The surgery involves a horizontal incision which is made just above the bikini line and another in the uterus, to first deliver the baby. Through this horizontal incision, the placenta is then removed and then sutured.

Given below is a list of things not to do after your caesarean section.
- New mothers who have had the caesarean section delivery should be careful on their return home. Cushioning your car seat with pillows will protect you in the bumpy ride. You should also try to stay away from short trips for a couple of months till you are completely healed and stitches are healed.
- If you catch a cold, then you are in for a lot of pain. Each time you sneeze you will feel the pain shoot down to your horizontal incision. So make sure, you stay away from foods that will make you fall sick.
- Stay away from foods that cause gas. Vegetables such as cabbage, broccoli, radish, cauliflower and mushrooms should be avoided for a period of time till you are healed completely.
- You need to stay away from foods that will also cause constipation. Constipation will increase the pain at the horizontal incision. Foods to avoid are red meat, sugar products, dairy products etc.
- After you have had a caesarean section delivery, make it a point not to lift heavy objects. Climbing stairs will also increase the pain at your horizontal incision.
- Continue to stay on your medications as per your doctors advice. Post-caesarean section operation causes post traumatic stress and these medications can help keep you in the best of health.
