How To Help Kids Overcome Anxiety?
How to help kids overcome anxiety? Well, to begin with even adults are suffering from anxiety thanks to the stressful lifestyle that is prevalent today. However, if you find your kid worrying too much then it is important to teach him how to deal with it at that young age so that he or she will be a better person after growing up.
What Every Father Should Teach His Son
Generally, worry makes your kid feel bad. Constant worrying may even spoil the performance of your kid. Irrespective of the reason for the anxiety, it is important to teach the kid how to deal with it and how to overcome it so that life will again be beautiful. There are certain strategies that explain how to help kids overcome anxiety. Go through them and see if they help you and your kids fight with a monster called anxiety which starts with fear.

Explain The Mechanism Of Fear
If your kids are of age where they can understand your words, you can explain certain things about how fear works. It is just a natural response of the body which helps us sense danger so that we can move into safety. When the body senses fear, adrenaline is released which helps us act faster.

Identifying Certain Feelings
When your system experiences fear, your body may experience certain sensations in certain areas like chest, head and stomach. The heart starts beating faster. You might experience a headache too. These are signals that you are undergoing fear and worry.

Labeling The Worries
When worry grabs us, we tend to lose joy. If there are nagging worries, it is better to rationalise them and sit with loved ones for support. Explain the same to your kid. This helps in dealing with anxiety in kids.

List Out The Worries
Ask your kid to come up with all the worries. Preparing a list of all of them will bring clarity. Once they are in front of you, it will be easier for you to analyse whether they are things worth worrying on.

Work On Them
Certain worries in the list may need some attention. Teach kids how to act on those worries so that the burden of worry gets reduced. If the worry is about homework or exams, doing the needful may reduce the anxiety.

Weird Worries
If your kid comes up with weird worries then what to do? Suppose your kid says that he is worried about being locked up in the classroom or in a dark room. Take the chance to explain your kid that such worries are meaningless as they never happen. This is important when dealing with anxiety in children.

Importance Of Learning
Encourage your kid to keep himself busy with academic activities. Ask him to spend time with friends and learn more.

Importance Of Art And Sports
Encourage your kid to participate in sports and other games which keep the mind fresh. Such activities release positive feelings in the mind and the body.

Be A Support
Always give your kid the feeling that you are always there. When there is enough support from parents, kids can easily deal with anxiety.

Loneliness
Never allow your kid to sit and brood in a lonely place. Always surround your kid with family remembers or friends. Your kids' anxiety can also be due to loneliness.
