Is Your Child Not Eating?

There are several reasons of why they eat less. The first and major reason is parents tendency of over feeding them. Small meals 5-6 times a day is good for 1-2 years old babies but school going children diet should consist of four meals a day. Breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner. All these meals should have enough nutrients but does not necessarily have to be heavy.
Tips To Make Your Child Eat Right
1.Include All Nutrients – If your child is a light eater, then don't force him to eat a heavy meal but make sure he has all the nutrients in his plate. This will make sure that he is eating right.
2.Don't Discriminate – Many households make their children eat before the elders. Remember, the way you don't like to eat alone, even your child doesn't. Let him eat with everyone. This motivates him to eat.
3.Make His Food Tasty – Don't make him a different meal. He should eat the same food as you. Generally children are served bland food. This makes food boring and thus, they start hating it. Their food too should taste good.
4.Serve Nicely – How the food is served is very important. Serve food in a nice plate and bowl. Serve him one course at a time, so that he does not feel there is too many things on his plate.
5.Understand His Taste Buds – Like you, he too may have his own likes and dislikes. Respect that. Just because he is a child, does not mean he will has to like everything. Prepare food which he likes and in the way he likes it.
6.Goodness Of Food – Educate him about food. You can tell him that milk will make him strong, vegetables will make him healthy etc. This will get him to like the food.
7.Allow Junk Sometimes – Don't kill his desires. It is human tendency to do what is forbidden. Thus, allow him a junk treat sometime and participate in the treat.
These are his early days of school and he will take some time to adapt to the new lifestyle. This new lifestyle will also take a toil on his food habits. You need to understand this and rebuild his diet.
