The over looming problem over the present day teenagers is the alcoholic addiction. When there are many reasons that can lead to this trend, the negative inclination can be prevented by the loving parents. It seems adolescents who share a strong bond with their parents often start drinking at a later age. This could subsequently prevent them from developing future alcohol problems.

There is a major role played by parents in the risk of problem drinking. Kids who start drinking at an early age may eventually develop alcohol-related problems, like getting into fights or having academic or work problems. However initiating alcohol at a later age brings a preventive effect to the youngsters.

It is important from the parents' side to keep an eye on the kids' drinking habits. They should deal with the circumstances in which that first drinks occurs. It is true that healthy parent-child relationships can "trigger a spiral of healthy development during adolescence."

Parents should remember how important they are when it comes to their children's risk of substance abuse. Being attentive to their children's needs in general, may be one way to protect them from developing drinking problems.
