A recent research study that was conducted compared the rate of cardiovascular diseases like heart attacks and strokes between women who conceived after 40 and women who conceived before 40 years of age.

The results proved that the rate of heart attacks and strokes were higher in women who conceived after 40 years.

Experts say that, pregnancy causes many physiological changes in a woman's body and there is a lot of pressure and strain on her blood vessels and cardiovascular system during that phase.

The cardiovascular system of women weakens with age, so women who have crossed the age of 40 may not be able to withstand the physical strain of pregnancy, hence they may be more prone to heart attacks and strokes.

If you are a woman who wants to get pregnant after the age of 40, then you must ensure that you make healthy lifestyle changes by following a nutritious diet, regular exercise, consuming vitamins, etc.

You must also seek professional help and have your self constantly monitored, if you are pregnant. Doctors can also scan your womb or test your blood to try and detect if your baby has any abnormalities or let you know if you are at a possible risk.
