Side Effects Of An Abortion Pill
The abortion pill commonly known as mifepristone has been used for more than a decade by women around the globe. Abortion pills are either prescribed by a doctor or can be bought at any drug store without a prescription. The abortion pill is risky for women to use, especially if the woman has other health complications.
The usual side effects of an abortion pill is fever, which begins right after the Misoprostol administration in the body. The fever can last for less than 24 hours and can be less than 100.4 degree Fahrenheit or 38 degree Centigrade, which is a common side effect and nothing to worry about. However, if the fever lasts longer than a day and is much higher than the temperature expected, the woman must be rushed to the hospital immediately.
The other grave side effects of an abortion pill can be quite disturbing. Apart from fever, the woman also experiences heavy cramping and periods, which at times also need immediate medical attention, depending on the situation she is in.

So, how does a medical abortion work?
Medical abortion requires two pills. The first pill is that of mifepristone. This very effective pill can cause the embryo to detach from the uterine wall. During this process, a woman does not feel a thing in the body. After two days, the pill called misoprostol contracts the uterus to expel the embryo.
In this stage, a woman can bleed profusely with clotting and bits of tissue that will be excreted from her vagina. This excessive bleeding is one of the other main side effects of an abortion pill and this effect lasts for about 1 to 2 weeks.

Is the abortion pill safe?
This is one of the many questions most women who undergo the procedure ask the experts. According to a study, it is stated that less than 1 percent of the women have serious side effects; however, in rare cases, bacteria can make its way into the cervix and cause an infection due to the pill. In cases like this, a woman has to undergo another procedure that is a lot more painful.

The common side effects of an abortion pill that any woman can witness are diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, back pain and extreme fatigue. These side effects will begin to wear off post 3 days after the consumption of the abortion pill.

On the other hand, it is known that these pills are only 90 percent effective when it comes to terminating the pregnancy. If you tend to vomit after the consumption of an abortion pill, it is likely that you will need to pop in another pill again.
