Viral IIT Baba Abhay Singh Secretly Marries Engineer Pratika, Netizens Question His Spiritual Path
Do you remember IIT Baba? The young engineer who became a familiar face at the Mahakumbh Mela in 2025? Back then, people were curious about the IIT graduate who chose a spiritual path over a conventional career. Now, here's something you probably didn't see coming: Abhay Singh, the IIT Baba, has secretly married, leaving many followers stunned who thought his path was only about spirituality.
The Man Behind The Viral Moment
Abhay Singh wasn't always a public figure. An aerospace engineering graduate from IIT, he once walked a conventional path of exams, placements and careers like thousands of others. But a shift in perspective led him elsewhere to the Mahakumbh Mela, where a video of him in simple robes went viral and transformed him into what social media began calling "IIT Baba." People tuned in not just because of the IIT tag, but because his voice sounded honest, grounded, and strangely relatable.
A Marriage That Surprised Many
Abhay Singh, popularly known as IIT Baba, married Pratika, an engineer from Karnataka, on 15 February 2026 at the Aghanjhar Mahadev Temple in Himachal Pradesh, coinciding with Mahashivratri. The couple later completed their court marriage on 19 February 2026. This news was not widely known at the time and has only come into public view today, 6 April 2026, after the couple was spotted together in Abhay's hometown of Jhajjar, Haryana. During that visit, he was reported to have said simply: "We are both happy in our lives."
Netizens React
As soon as the news surfaced, social media lit up with surprise and curiosity. Many users were stunned that someone known for renunciation and spiritual focus had now embraced married life. Photos of the couple quickly circulated on platforms like Instagram and Twitter, prompting conversations about how unexpected the change seemed.
Some posts even jokingly referred to it as a "reverse gear," highlighting the contrast between his previous renunciate image and his current domestic life. Overall, the online reaction has been more curious than critical, with people fascinated by the shift rather than questioning it.
Plans Beyond Marriage
Following the wedding, the couple chose to settle in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh - a place that seems to reflect the calm and thoughtful direction their lives have taken.
Even after marriage, Abhay has not dropped the threads of his earlier vision. Together with Pratika, he's talking about creating a university rooted in Sanatan traditions, one that doesn't reject modern questions but engages them. The idea is to bring a space where spiritual inquiry and scientific thinking can coexist, where students can explore both with equal openness.
This project, still in its early conceptual stages, gives a glimpse into how their partnership functions: collaborative, future‑oriented, and rooted in shared curiosity.
