Vicky Kaushal And Sidharth Malhotra Pamper Wives On First Mother's Day: Why All Husbands Should Take Notes
Mother's Day is usually centred around children making cards, posting old family photos, or planning small surprises for their mothers. But this year, two celebrity couples sparked conversation for a different reason. The focus was not only on motherhood, but also on husbands making sure their wives felt appreciated during a major life transition.
Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif celebrated Katrina's first Mother's Day after welcoming their son Vihaan Kaushal on November 7, 2025. Katrina shared glimpses of the day on Instagram, offering one of the first public peeks into their life as new parents.
The celebration included a bouquet of pink roses, a handwritten card from Vicky and baby Vihaan, and a warm family moment built around a children's book instead of an elaborate public display. The note read, "Happy first Mother's Day my love! Love, Vihaan and Papa Kaushal!"
One of the pictures showed Katrina holding The Very Hungry Caterpillar while Vihaan's tiny fingers turned its pages. She captioned the post: "a happy Mama's pov."
A similar moment played out between Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani. Kiara celebrated her first Mother's Day after welcoming daughter Saraayah Malhotra in July 2025.
Sidharth marked the occasion by preparing chocolate pancakes for Kiara at home. Kiara later shared family moments from the celebration on Instagram, with the breakfast surprise quickly becoming a talking point online. Decorative touches around the setup, including "MOM" styling elements, added to the warmth of the occasion, but what people connected with most was the effort itself.
Motherhood Often Comes With Invisible Emotional Labour
Once a woman becomes a mother, people naturally shift their attention towards the child. Conversations revolve around feeding schedules, sleeping patterns, milestones, routines, and parenting advice. Somewhere along the way, mothers themselves can start disappearing into the background of caregiving.
That is why acknowledgement from a partner matters so much. When husbands celebrate their wives on Mother's Day, they are recognising work that often goes unnoticed - the sleepless nights, the emotional exhaustion, the constant mental planning, and the physical recovery that motherhood demands.
For many women, especially first-time mothers, feeling emotionally seen by a partner can matter more than any expensive present.
Children Learn Appreciation From What They See At Home
Such acts from partners also teaches children what care and gratitude inside relationships look like.
When children grow up seeing their father appreciate their mother openly whether through flowers, breakfast, a handwritten note, or simply taking responsibility for the day, they absorb important lessons about emotional effort and partnership.
Mother's Day Should Not Become Another Responsibility For Mothers
Ironically, many women end up planning their own Mother's Day celebrations - organising lunches, dressing children, arranging family calls, and handling logistics for events meant to celebrate them. That completely misses the point.
Sometimes the most meaningful thing a husband can do is take initiative without needing instructions. To notice. To plan. To make space for rest. To acknowledge that motherhood changes a woman's life in ways that are emotional, physical, and deeply personal.
Perhaps that is why the Mother's Day gestures from Vicky Kaushal and Sidharth Malhotra sparked conversation beyond fandom culture. They reflected something many women hope for in relationships: partnership that shows up in everyday life, not just in public declarations.
