Born into a world that holds customs and traditions above all, you must have heard it sometime or the other, what would make your life miserable. How somethings are regarded inauspicious. Blind faith and religion somehow take a walk together here. No, it's not that religion says it all but, there are some facts that people just believe because it’s been told to them by their forefathers.

With due respect to everyone, have they ever questioned these myths that have flowed through generations? Probably some of the myths are because people want you to avoid doing it for some scientific reason.

Probably some coincidence has affirmed these myths in the minds of the people who believe in them. But, it seems these myths hold a pretty strong position in India.

In fact, many people believe the child gets infected by the eclipse and can take the form of a demon. Death is predicted by astrologers during solar eclipse. The scientific reason is the amount of UV rays spreading during the eclipse is higher than regular days hence people should refrain from looking at the sun.

You are impure and unclean when you are twitching with pain during your periods. Well, that's an Indian superstition for you. These women are not allowed to enter temples/mosques during this time as well as the kitchen in some households. There's the scientific reason associated too where people believe it is because women need rest at that time. But a class of people also believe that it's to subordinate the position of the fairer sex in the society.

People here believe that a person born under the influence of this planet would bring in ill luck. No weddings or auspicious events occur on Saturdays. Some people even refuse to cut nails on Saturdays.

Most people would say sleeping under a peepal tree would cause death because the spirits are evil and out to avenge you with your death. Well, it's true that sleeping beneath these trees is harmful in the night but, the reason is that they release carbon dioxide which can be harmful to your health.
