There is something about X-Men characters that always gets our attention. Ever since the time of the X-Men comics came, people were enthralled by these 'mutants'. Now that the X-Men comics have been turned into a movies, you could actually see the mutants use their special powers on screen.
For those who are unaware, X-Men characters are basically an evolved race of humans. These mutants from X-Men have reached the next step of human evolution, thus they have some special powers. Humans fear them and are also in awe of them. The world of X-men characters is very different from ours and that is why we get pulled into it.
Some X-men characters are positive because they want to protect humans. Other mutants are in league with Magneto and want to destroy human beings. Most readers are fascinated by X-Men characters irrespective of the side they are on. While reading X-Men comics, you may have often wished that you had some of these powers too.

Wolverine
Is it not glamorous to spike out metal nails whenever you wish? On top of that, if you injure yourself with whose lethal nails, you will heal immediately. We all love Wolverine for this adamantium nails but his self healing quality is what we really envy.
Storm
She can control the weather and when she uses her powers, her eyes turn white. How good it would be to control the weather; you would never need to carry an umbrella or a coat!
Cyclops
Cyclops can shoot laser beams from his eyes. The best part about his powers is that he has to wear sunglasses all times of the day.
Rogue
She is called Rogue because her evolutionary power allows her to steal the powers of all the other mutants.
The Phoenix
Probably the most powerful X-Men character is Dr Jean Grey or the Phoenix. She is the only 6th generation mutant and has telepathic powers beyond the scope of imagination. She could just look at you and turn you into dust.
Magneto
He is one of the most powerful mutants in the X-Men series. He has control over metals and can use them in his own way. This means that no metal bullets can ever harm him and he cannot be hurt by any weapon.
Mystique
As the name suggests, she is one of the most mysterious X-Men characters. Her special power is that she can take any form that she wants. Imagine the fun if you could turn into Aishwarya Rai on one day and look like Angelina Jolie the next day!
Emma Frost
She loves her for diamond studded skin and also for her telepathic powers. She can also act as a shield against all other mutant powers.
Dazzler
This cool mutant is a singer by profession. Her special power is that she can absorb sound and turn it into light. You could actually look 'dazzling' with such powers.
Shadow Cat
The line 'catch me if you can' seems to be inspired by Shadow Cat. Her special power is that she can become intangible at any point of time. You can never close your fist over her or anything she touches.
