Food Review: Shiro
Being new in Bangalore I was looking for a place where I can get a combination of good food, good music and great ambience. Someone suggested me Shiro at UB City. And on visiting Shiro, trust me I was not at all disappointed. It is surely a venue that combines the finest Japanese cuisine with absolutely top-end quality entertainment.
This high-end luxury lounge is spread over 7000 sq ft with 60 ft high ceiling. It represents Asian castles with big statues, dim lighting and water flows. Just in case you are not a kind who goes well with magical interiors then a beautiful lush open terrace is waiting for you. Shiro is primarily divided into different zones- the bar area swings on the lower level, the restaurant at a slightly raised platform and stairs ascended to a VIP area on a 9 foot upper level.

Keeping the décor aside, even the food and table setting was a big thumbs up. Shiro offers a variety of Japanese, Korean and Thai foods in their vast menu. So, for starters we thought of ordering a mix of all the three cuisines. We ordered chi chow style dumplings, makimono and Mahtani chicken. And trust my taste buds, Mahtani chicken was a real delight. It was a dry grilled chicken dish mixed with exotic spices. They offer a wide variety in their bar menu too. With a zest to taste few other dishes our server suggested us to go for bang bang chicken salad; shredded chicken served on a bed of glass noodles topped with a spicy peanut dressing. With mixed vegetables in peanut sause and Japanese white rice. And lastly we were advised by our server to order chocolate volcano and we really thank him for doing so. It was a dark chocolate cake with a ganache filling, served with vanilla ice cream.
All in all, the experience at Shiro starting from décor, ambience and food was just outstanding. The staff, music and the food will make us visit Shiro soon again.
Plus & Minus: The lounge fits in the category of fine dining as well as a happening party place. Though you might have to wait in a long queue if you don't have a reservation.
