A bunch of roses is certainly the best gift for your loved one. Why only loved one, don't you think of it while going for a birthday party, a wedding reception or a house warming party?

A list of gifts is indeed incomplete without the option of a bunch of beautiful roses. Roses come in different colours and each of the colours signify something. You can't present a bunch of red roses to your office colleague on his birthday or give a bunch of yellow flowers to your girlfriend on the valentine's day.

Roses have existed for years and through the ages, it has been linked with emotions like love and friendship. It has become the most favourite flower across the globe. Roses symbolise love. However, each of the different colours defines a specific relationship.

In Victorian times, suitors would present a bouquet to their intended that held much meaning once the flowers were looked at. These bouquets were called "tussie-mussies" and every courtship began with their presentation.

Red Roses: Red roses are pure symbols of love and passion. It is generally given to a lover or to the loved ones. Rose buds symbolises beauty, youth and a pure heart. Colours that range from deep red to hues of orange and burgundy.

White Roses: White roses symbolises purity, innocence and peace. A bunch of red and white roses or white roses with red edges signify unity.

Yellow Roses: Yellow roses stand for friendship, joy and gladness. Yellow roses are specially given to new mothers and those who have freshly graduated.

Pink Roses: Pink roses are generally given to express thankfulness, gratitude and appreciation. It can also symbolise grace and dignity.

The number of roses given also carry a meaning. One red rose shows love, a dozen shows gratitude, twenty five shows congratulations and fifty shows unconditional love. Two red roses tied together with a ribbon symbolises engagement.
