Countdown For The Commonwealth Games Begins

So far the baton relay has covered a total of 135,000 kilometres.
"International relay's last 240 days will cover a distance of 170,000 kilometres over the globe. It will cover all the six regions of the world and will reach out to over one-third of the world's population. As of today which is the 203rd day, the baton is in New Zealand," said Lt. Gen. (retired) Raj Kadyan, member of the organising Committee of Commonwealth Games 2010. New Delhi, the capital of India will host the Commonwealth Games in October, this year.
The day the baton enters India, would start of the countdown for the Commonwealth Games. It would mark the 100th day before the commencement Commonwealth Games.
The games will be the largest multi-sports event hosted by India. Previously the country has hosted Asian Games in 1951 and 1982.
