Jessica Trisko wins Miss Earth 2007 crown

Jessica Nicole Trisko of Canada was crowned The 7th Miss Earth pageant- Beauties for a cause. It took place on November 11, 2007 at the University of the Philippines Theater in Quezon City, Philippines.

Jessica Nicole Trisko was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She is a first generation Canadian of Russo-Ukrainian and Filipino heritage. She did a bit of modeling when she was a teenager growing up in Vancouver. She later, set that aside for five years to focus on her studies, earning a master's degree.

For Jessica Nicole Trisko , with the title comes ,000 (U.S.), and a string of public-event commitments where she'll be looked forward to follow up on her pledge to push for more environmental education.

Miss Earth is the only major global beauty pageant that promotes care and preservation for the planets environment and ecology and requires its candidates and winners to embrace the cause. The pageant began seven years ago, when Carousel Productions, Inc. of the Philippines failed to get the rights to produce the Miss Asia-Pacific pageant. Today the contest is shown in 80 countries around the globe through STAR TV and The Filipino Channel.
