OTT Releases This Week (October 5–11): What’s On Netflix, Prime Video, JioHotstar And SonyLIV
If you're scrolling through OTT platforms wondering what to watch this weekend, there's plenty coming your way. From a new Hindi thriller and South Indian films to horror, action and Hollywood blockbusters, the October 5-11 line-up has something for different moods. So, before you spend half your evening deciding what to stream, here are the movies and shows arriving across OTT platforms this week.
Netflix
Netflix has one of the busiest line-ups this week. 'Mandaadi', the Tamil sports drama starring Soori and Suhas, arrives on October 8. The film revolves around traditional boat racing and is also available in dubbed versions.
On October 9, you can watch 'Reporting Live', a Hindi thriller starring Parineeti Chopra, along with Telugu romantic drama 'Epic - First Semester', featuring Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya. Malayalam crime thriller 'Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar', starring Parvathy Thiruvothu, also lands on the platform that day.
For Hollywood fans, 'Below' arrives on October 8, while Ben Affleck's thriller 'Animals' premieres on October 9. The latter follows a Los Angeles mayoral candidate and his wife after their son is kidnapped. '100 Days of Deception' rounds off Netflix's week on October 10.
Prime Video
Prime Video brings the highly anticipated 'Carrie' on October 7, with Mike Flanagan's adaptation of Stephen King's novel offering a fresh take on the classic horror story. 'Khalifa: The Ruler', starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, also arrives on October 9. The Malayalam action thriller will stream in India on Prime Video and manoramaMAX.
Meanwhile, 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' and 'Insidious: Out of the Further' become available digitally from October 6, although these are rental or purchase releases rather than titles included with a standard Prime subscription.
JioHotstar
Action fans can look forward to 'Mortal Kombat II' on October 8, continuing the video-game movie franchise.
For Hindi reality-TV viewers, 'Pati Patni Aur Panga Season 2' arrives on October 10, adding a lighter option to the week's otherwise thriller-heavy line-up.
SonyLIV
Malayalam thriller series 'Eyes' arrives on SonyLIV on October 9. Directed by Manu Ashokan and starring Kani Kusruti, Nikhila Vimal, Shruti Ramachandran, Saniya Iyappan and Dev Mohan, the series follows a police officer investigating disturbing cases involving stalking, obsession and control. The series is also available in dubbed versions, making it an option for viewers beyond Malayalam cinema.
With regional cinema, Hindi originals, horror, superheroes and action all competing for your attention, this week's OTT line-up has something for almost every kind of viewer. If you want a thriller, 'Animals' or 'Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar' or 'Eyes' could be your pick; for South Indian cinema, 'Mandaadi', 'Epic' and 'Khalifa' stand out, while franchise fans have 'Mortal Kombat II', 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' and 'Insidious' to choose from.
