OTT Releases This Week (3rd Aug to 9th Aug): What To Stream On Netflix, Prime, JioHotstar, Zee5, and SonyLiv

Naseeruddin Shah plays a 95-year-old man who can no longer tell the difference between 1947 and now. That is the emotional core of Imtiaz Ali's Main Vaapas Aaunga, and it is the biggest of this week's new OTT releases, arriving on 7 August after a 45-day theatrical run that quietly outgrossed Jab We Met.

It is not the only reason to clear your watchlist. Between 3 and 9 August, six streaming platforms are dropping eleven fresh titles between them - Partition-era romance, Kargil-war drama, Tamil crime thrillers and one long-awaited football comeback. Here is what is landing where.

What To Watch On Netflix

Netflix has the busiest slate of the week, all clustered around 6-7 August.

• Main Vaapas Aaunga (Hindi, 7 August) - Nirvair (Diljit Dosanjh) sets out to fulfil his grandfather Ishar Singh's dying wish: finding Afsana, the woman he lost during Partition. The film cuts between Nirvair's present-day search and young Ishar and Afsana's romance, played by Vedang Raina and Sharvari Wagh, scored by A.R. Rahman.
• Operation Safed Sagar: The Untold Story of the Kargil War (Hindi + dubs, 7 August) - An eight-episode series starring Siddharth and Jimmy Shergill as Indian Air Force pilots flying high-altitude missions during the 1999 conflict, with Dia Mirza and Abhay Verma.
• Idhayam Murali (Tamil + dubs, 7 August) - A groom-to-be narrates his history of unrequited love to a stranger, including a subplot involving identical twins who swap places.
• My Life With The Walter Boys Season 3 (English, 6 August) - The coming-of-age drama returns as Jackie navigates family and romance after Season 2's fallout.

What To Watch On Amazon Prime Video

• Vadhandhi: Season 2 (Tamil, 7 August) - The acclaimed investigative thriller returns. SI Moosa Raaza reopens a cold case and discovers his own hasty verdict once sent an innocent man, Mani, to prison for life.
• Oh Sukumari (Telugu + dubs, 7 August) - A Telangana-set romantic comedy in which Yadagiri (Thiruveer) falls for Damini (Aishwarya Rajesh), whose touch delivers an electric shock - a quirk the film mines for both comedy and mystery.

What To Watch On JioHotstar

JioHotstar splits its week between crime and family viewing.

• Uyir (Malayalam + dubs, 4 August) - A Malayalam crime thriller led by Roshan Mathew, based on true events, following a probationary sub-inspector who uncovers anomalies in a case dismissed as suicide.
• The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, 6 August) - Mario's next animated adventure, dubbed for pan-India family viewing.

What To Watch On ZEE5

ZEE5 goes regional with two Telugu titles, both landing 7 August.

• Lenin - A rural action drama starring Akhil Akkineni, following an orphan drawn into village politics and revenge after a forbidden romance derails an arranged wedding.
• Nooru Saami - A widowed mother's fight against village orthodoxy when she decides to remarry, backed by her two sons.

What To Watch On Apple TV+

Ted Lasso Season 4 (English, 5 August) is the platform's headline return. Jason Sudeikis's relentlessly optimistic coach is back from Kansas, this time building a women's football team, the Lady Greyhounds, from scratch.

Also Streaming

ManoramaMax adds the Malayalam poaching thriller Kattalan (7 August), following rival crime bosses fighting for control of an ivory smuggling network. SonyLIV has no new scripted original this week, but is streaming India's Test series in Sri Lanka live for cricket fans.
