LFW 2014: Surendri's Floral Prints
Day 2 of LFW 2014 is already setting our expectations really high. After a stunning show by Surendri at LFW 2014, we are expecting the day to proceed into finer and more creative designs. If we have to describe Surendri's Winter Festive collection in one word, it will be 'floral'. There was a distinct floral motif in this collection.
There were many outfits with sunflower appliques on it. The most interesting part about this collection was the accessories. Yogesh Chaudhary's LFW 2014 collection made use of heavy silver jhumkas with gemstones studded in it. The models wore both jhumkas and gotas to decorate their hair. This gave an edgy fusion look to the designs.
The designs could also be interpreted as Indo-western depending on your perspective. The lehengas can be worn as lehenga skirts and the cholis as crop tops. The floral tunics can pass off as kurtis. In a way; this was a perfect cross over collection of clothes that can be worn in many different ways.
We particularly like the plain white saree with floral prints that was worn with a full-sleeved red blouse. For us, this was a stand out design in the collection. On the whole, the Surendri collection at Lakme Fashion Week 2014 was exceedingly wearable and very contemporary.

Flare It Up
These two designs are examples of flare tops. The off-shoulder's mini dress has a flared skirt and collar. The black dress has floral prints and a flared finish.

Side Slit Dress
This sky blue midi dress has a side slit. It has the common theme of bold floral prints.

Indian Prints
Even in the Indian outfits there are bold sunflower prints. The orange saree with green floral prints is very bright.
