Manish Malhotra Concludes DCW 2013

Delhi Couture Week 2013 concluded on 4th August on a high fashion note. The last day of DCW 2013 was wrapped up by none other than Manish Malhotra. The ace fashion designer prepared his couture on the last day of DCW 2013. His collection was inspired by the British influence on affluent Indian Lifestyle in 1930's.

The 1930's inspired collection has frills, puffy sleeves, anarkalis and velvet lehengas. Manish Malhotra is very popular among Bollywood celebrities and we expected some celebrities on the ramp. We thought it would be Kareena or Karisma Kapoor as a showstopper. However, Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone were a complete surprise package on the last day of DCW 2013.

Deepika and Shahrukh walked the ramp with designer friend, Manish Malhotra to wrap up his 1930's inspired couture. Deepika Padukone looked mesmerising in a blue velvet lehenga with heavy silver work on it. The full loose fitting sleeves from the 1930's trend were revived on the ramp, and Deepika too carried this signature look from Manish Malhotra's couture very well. The full sleeve loose velvet blouse looked vintage on the ramp of DCW 2013. Puffed centre-parting hair bun gave a vintage touch to the look. Red lips looked hot on Deepika Padukone. She completed the look with heavy silver necklace which had diamond crystals studded on it.

Shahrukh Khan on the other side looked ravishing in a jet black three-piece suit. Back swept gelled hair was set neatly and SRK looked handsome when he wrapped up the finale of DCW 2013 with co-star Deepika Padukone and designer friend, Manish Malhotra.

Deepika Padukone

One of the showstoppers for Manish Malhotra at DCW 2013 looked breathtaking in a blue velvet lehenga. The lehenga was heavily studded with silver and golden work.

Red and Golden Gown

The red gown has a heavy golden work on the frills of the gown. The plain red bodice has velvet puff sleeves which gave a touch of 1930's.

Red and Blue Lehenga

The red lehenga has heavy silver work on it and has been teamed up with a blue velvet blouse and sheer dupatta.

Brick Red Mermaid Gown

This mermaid gown has been carried off like a lehenga with the dupatta been wrapped up on the hand. The gown has intricate golden work on the plunging bandhgala neckline and waist.
