Cancer is one of the dangerous and life taking diseases. Till now, we all battle this dangerous disease. While a few fight this battle, most of the patients lose their battle. Priyanka Chopra's father, Dr. Ashok Chopra succumbed to cancer recently.

There are many celebrities who are battling cancer. Recently, Angelina Jolie showed up her brave side by getting a preventive double mastectomy to prevent breast cancer. She has a genetic history of breast cancer where her mother too died of this disease. Angelina Jolie had mutated BRCA1 gene which is known to be one of the major causes of breast and ovarian cancer. The actress was brave enough to share her experience and motivate other women patients to opt for this surgery if required.

Breast cancer develops from the breast cells. It starts off in the inner lining of milk ducts or the lobules that supply them with milk. If it is in lobules is known as lobular carcinoma, while one that developed from the ducts is called ductal carcinoma. Lumps in the breast, skin dimpling, change in skin and nipple colour, blood leak out from nipples are few symptoms of breast cancer.

Well, Angelina Jolie has shown her strength and won the battle against breast cancer, there are many other celebrities who have fought breast cancer.

One of the most beautiful actresses in Hollywood revealed that she underwent a double mastectomy recently to prevent breast cancer. Even her mother died of this fatal disease.

Kylie Minogue

The Australian pop singer is another celebrity who battled breast cancer. Kylie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005. She underwent chemotherapy and recovered successfully.

Barbara Mori

The Spanish actress too was diagnosed with breast cancer at an early age of 29. After treatment, the actress is doing good and spreading awareness of breast cancer.

Christina Applegate

The actress was detected with breast cancer in the first stage. She underwent double mastectomy and has founded Right Action for Women, a breast cancer foundation to spread the awareness.

Cynthia Nixon

The Sex and the City's actress is another celebrity who fought breast cancer. She was diagnosed with breast cancer during a regular mammogram. She underwent around 6 weeks of radiation and a lumpectomy.

Edie Falco

In 2003, at the age of 40, Sopranos star was diagnosed with breast cancer. She secretly underwent the treatment and then revealed about her battle.

Jaclyn Smith

The yesteryear beauty was another celebrity who was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 56. Jaclyn underwent lumpectomy and radiations.

Sheryl Crow

In 2006, Sheryl Crow was diagnosed with breast cancer. She treated the dangerous disease and is now a mother of 2 boys.
