International Left-Hander's Day: Famous Lefties

August 13th marks the celebration of International Left-Handers Day. All the lefties celebrate this day to spread awareness about the benefits of using the left hand and also the hurdles of doing the same. Being a left handed person is really difficult as you need special devices and tools to use with the left hand. Thus, on this day, all the lefties share the advantages and disadvantages of being a leftie and the challenges that they face. Many people are leftie and they are proud of it. Lets take a look at few famous left handed people.

Famous left handed people:

Barack Obama:
He is one of the famous left-handed people in the world. The present US President is a leftie. Many other US Presidents such as Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, Gerald Ford, Herbert Hoover, Harry S. Truman and Ronald Reagan were left-handed.

Ravi Shastri: The Indian cricketer is also left-handed. The legendary Indian batsman used his left hand to win many matches. Other cricketers like Adam Gilchrist , Sourav Ganguly, Sir Garry Sobers, David Gower, Brian Lara and Saeed Anwar are also left-handed cricketers.

Kurt Cobain: The famous guitarist was left-handed. It is believed that playing a guitar with the left hand is really challenging. However, left-handed guitarists like Paul McCartney, Dick Dale, Albert King, Tony Iommi and Jimi Hendrix made us their fans.

Angelina Jolie: The gorgeous actress is a leftie. She is a famous Hollywood actress who falls in the list of left-handed people. Other celebrities like Tom Cruise, Charlie Chaplin, Nicole Kidman, Marilyn Monroe, Julia Roberts, Emma Thompson, Oprah Winfrey and Bruce Willis are also left-handed.

Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci: The famous painter of the Monalisa was a leftie. Other painters such as Michelangelo, Hans Holbein, Paul Klee and Albrecht Durer are also left-handed artists.

Justin Bieber: The teen heart throb singer is one of the famous left-handed people in the world. Lady Gaga, Pink and Tim Armstrong are also left-handed singers.

Terry Sawchuk: Playing hockey with left hand was something unusual in the early days. But, famous left-handed hockey players like Tom Barrasso, Cam Neely, Roman Turek and Phil Esposito surprised their fans with their amazing talents. They have motivated other left-handed people to face challenges.

Valentino Rossi: He is a famous motorcycle racer. This sports-person is a left-handed man who has won many titles for his talent. Other drivers like Johnny Herbert (Formula 1 driver), Terry Labonte (NASCAR race car driver), Karl Wendlinger (Formula 1 driver) are also lefties.

These are few left-handed people worldwide who are famous for their work and talent. These examples show that all lefties are not weird! Celebrate International Left-Handers Day by spreading the awareness of the benefits of being a leftie.
