Since the day I stepped in the city, I always thought of the kind of food we get here. I was a bit stereotyped about the typical Idlis and Vadas to be the part and parcel of the day"s meal. Being food savvy, I never wanted to stick on to the stereotyped cult of having puffy idlis and greasy vadas all over the day and yearned for something new.

The jinx broke very soon as I hovered around the city and mapped the multicuisine restaurants all around Bangalore offering delicacies from all over the world. It was a relishing sight, but what stunned me were the roadside eateries and food stalls in certain parts of the city offering the finest of foodstuff and being thronged by taste frenzy mob. One must not be astounded to find a person who had the day"s lunch in a deluxe cafe, gorging up chats on the pavement eatery in the evening.

These eateries and food stalls struck to fame among people from every class of the society due to the affordable prices and a taste unmatched to any of the five star restaurants.

The 8th cross mania:-

Malleshwaram 8th cross, a shopaholic"s paradise and a trader"s desire to have an outlet over there. It could rightly be considered as the liveliest of the places in Bengaluru. The whole 8th cross street is lined up with the best Bangalore food hubs offering wide range of savories from sweet to spicy, tangier than one has ever felt. These stalls are the shopper"s stop with shoppers feasting on mouth watering snacks, the set of choices varying from Indian chats to Chinese Manchurians to pizzas which would put even Italy to shame and prices that would knock over recession. One could get a yummy pizza at just 30 bucks and a spiffing veg-burger for 15 bucks. These stalls can douse your hunger and please your heart without emptying your wallets.

The variety of dosas we get here is found nowhere, stuffed and patted with lemon rice, ghee rice and jeera rice, nicely roasted with quality ghee, butter and oil. These are accompanied by sandwiches, pani puris and the hot badam milk which is a feast to one"s eyes. If you desire to quench your appetite late at night, then this place is the right spot. The hawkers sweat here late up to 2 AM. One must visit this most famous Bangalore food hubs to give your tongue a pleasing delight.

Talk of the town in 'Khau Gali":-

An aromatic ambiance that gratifies the soul, greets every foodie at the nook of this street, popularly known as the 'Food Street" or 'Khau Gali" among the residents of South Bengaluru, it is a prominent weekend nightspot in V.V.Puram, just a hundred metres away from Jain College. People rush in hordes towards this popular Bangalore food hub just to munch and quench their hunger. With fifty odd stalls, this street provides a blend of savories, not only Indian but Chinese and Italian too. Be it the Gujarati Dhoklas, Bengali Rossogollas, Rajasthani Pakoris or the Punjabi Chole, the irresistible taste at these stalls is found nowhere and as it is said that no one can eat just once, people visit it all over again. Minus the fears of high calorie intake, the stuff over here will gives bliss to your heart. The annual 'Avrekai Fair" attracts thousands to this lane.
