How Far Will A Workplace Go To Ensure Their Employees' Well-Being? Maybe Paid ‘Tinder Dates'?
A marketing agency in Thailand has introduced a unique benefit for its employees, offering paid leave specifically for dating. Whiteline Group announced that from July until the end of the year, staff can take 'Tinder leave' to explore dating options on the app.
Footage showed female employees reacting with surprise and excitement as leadership unveiled the initiative during a conference room meeting. One employee even shared a video of her date, which included a park walk and being fed watermelon on a skewer by her romantic interest.

Idea Behind Wellbeing And Dating
The idea for Tinder leave emerged after an employee mentioned being too busy to date. Whiteline Group decided to address this by not only giving time off but also covering six-month subscriptions to Tinder Gold and Tinder Platinum for their staff.
Tinder Gold allows users to see who has liked them, offers unlimited likes, and enables matching with people worldwide. Meanwhile, Tinder Platinum provides additional features such as sending notes with superlikes and boosting profiles to be more visible in their area.
Meaningful Relationships And High Productivity
Whiteline Group managers believe that finding love can enhance happiness and productivity at work. They cited research indicating that being in love increases overall happiness, making work more enjoyable.
A study by Brendon McConnell at the University of Southampton in 2023 supports this notion. It found that "married individuals earn higher hourly wages than their single counterparts," highlighting a marriage wage premium that benefits both men and women.
The initiative aims to improve employee wellbeing by encouraging them to find meaningful relationships. The company hopes this will lead to happier, more productive staff members.
Overall, Whiteline Group's innovative approach has garnered attention and sparked conversations about workplace benefits and employee happiness. By prioritizing personal lives, they aim to create a more fulfilling work environment.
