Every September, Mumbai splits itself in two for ten days. In one version of the city, lakhs of devotees stand in queues that stretch past a day just to catch a glimpse of Lalbaugcha Raja's feet. In another, a red carpet unrolls outside Antilia, and Bollywood arrives in silk and Nehru jackets to do, essentially, the same thing - ask Bappa for a good year. Ganesh Chaturthi 2026 delivered both versions in full, and the celebrity trail this year ran straight through each of them.

At Lalbaugcha Raja: Devotion, Politics And A Different Kind Of Star Power

Long before Antilia's red carpet was even rolled out, the queues outside the 93-year-old Lalbaugcha Raja had already begun pulling in their own set of famous faces; people willing to trade VIP comfort for a slice of the city's oldest, most fiercely devoted Ganpati tradition.

Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh: The longtime regulars at the pandal visited together and were seen offering prayers. Riteish wore a traditional kurta, while Genelia opted for a purple suit as the couple sought Bappa's blessings, continuing what has become something of an annual ritual for the family through the festival.

Ranveer Singh: The actor arrived in a white chikankari kurta-pyjama, folding his hands in prayer before Ganpati Bappa's idol. The visit came as he stepped away from the shoot of his upcoming film Pralay, his production debut, to seek the Lord's blessings.

Shilpa Shetty: Dressed in an ivory and maroon printed saree, Shilpa arrived at the pandal to offer prayers, joining the wider festive rush in Mumbai where Lalbaugcha Raja remains one of the city's biggest draws through Ganesh Chaturthi.

Ektaa Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra: Ahead of the trailer launch of their upcoming project The Vvaan, the producer and actor made a stop at the pandal, seeking Bappa's blessings before setting off on the film's promotional journey.

Mukesh Ambani, Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant: The Reliance Chairman made his own separate visit to the pandal with his son and daughter-in-law, seeking blessings from the idol devotees know as Navsacha Ganpati - the one who fulfils wishes.

Uddhav, Aaditya and Rashmi Thackeray: The Shiv Sena (UBT) chief visited the pandal with his son and wife, with Aaditya later posting on X that he had taken darshan "with immense devotion" at Lalbaugcha Raja.

Vidyut Jammwal: The actor was granted swift VVIP access, sidestepping the queues that can otherwise stretch past a day for the Navsachi line.

Also spotted at the pandal: cricketer Suryakumar Yadav, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, actor and Bigg Boss contestant Nimrit Kaur Walia, content creator-turned-actor Prajakta Koli, and spiritual speaker Jaya Kishori - a reminder that Lalbaugcha Raja's pull now extends well beyond Bollywood alone, drawing in cricket, digital creators and the spiritual circuit in equal measure.

At Antilia: Bollywood's Biggest Red Carpet Of The Season

Across town, the Ambani residence played host to one of the most photographed Ganpati celebrations in the country, as it does every year.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt: The couple posed together for the cameras as they arrived for the celebration.

Madhuri Dixit and Dr Shriram Nene: The couple arrived together to seek Bappa's blessings at the Ambani residence.

Kriti Sanon: The actor was among the early arrivals at Antilia's star-studded celebration.

Karan Johar: The filmmaker made his way to Antilia to offer prayers.

Rekha and Khushi Kapoor: Both were spotted at the celebration, adding to the evening's steady stream of Bollywood arrivals.

Kajol: The actor attended with her children, Nysa and Yug, with Nysa in a pink halter-neck suit and Yug in a traditional kurta-pyjama.

Salman Khan: The superstar arrived at Antilia after first visiting brother Sohail Khan's own Ganpati celebration.
