The teen star and a close fried of Justin Bieber, confessed her liking for Cheryl Cole prior to her performance of her hit 'Parachute' to her fans.

"When I was in London last year, I fell in love with a British artist. She is so cool. Her name is Cheryl Cole," the Daily Mail quoted Selena Gomez as saying.

"This song that I'm going to perform for you guys, you might not know, but I feel like the lyrics are very beautiful. This song is called 'Parachute'," the Selena Gomez added.

So what if America isn't aware of the "Girls Aloud" singer, she has a popular American singer as her genuine fan.
