British actress Carey Mulligan, who is nominated in the Best Actress category at the Oscars, has been turned away by three drama schools, before she made it big.
The actress has already bagged a Bafta award for her role in An Education.
Mulligan said that the negative experiences had made her realise how much she loved acting.
However, her dream came true when she was 14 or 15 years old and got selected to act with Dame Judi Dench.
Her first acting job was 'Pride And Prejudice' and her first day of filming was a scene with Dame Judi.
“From day one I"ve been pinching myself. It"s like it"s happening to someone else. It"s very surreal," said the actress.
