Russell Crowe's family tree has apparently been traced to a line of fruit and vegetable wholesalers in a town in northeast Wales.

The Aussie actor's great grandfather Bill reportedly immigrated to Canada. However his grandfather John stayed behind before eventually shifting base to New Zealand. His next generation eventually made Australia their home.

Meanwhile, Crowe gave away his winter coat to a homeless celebrity spotter when he found that the follower had travelled to Pittsburgh on his bike to meet him.
