Essentail Research conducted by the on line poll of 1000 people, showed that almost one-third of the voters considered Howard as the best Prime Minister since 1940s.
Second on the list is the current Aussie PM Kevin Rudd with 20 percent of the votes followed by Labor PM Bob Hawke. Fourth and fifth are Paul Keating and Gough Whitlam. 11 percent of the people however, voted for Liberal stalwart Robert Menzies, who rated him No.1.
The poll also surfaced the opinion of one-third of people who think they are yet to face the worst due to financial crisis. The others felt that they will remain the same or 'better off'. AGENCIES
