Kalidas Festival From Nov 9

Bhopal : The week-long All India Kalidas Festival will be held at the temple town of Ujjain from November 9.

Festival consultative committee decided to invite Mauritius President Aniruddh Jugannath, Nepal President Ramvaran Yadav and former Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat for the inaugural function.

Chitrakoot's Vikland Vishwavidyalaya Chancellor Swami Rambhadracharya and Yoga guru Baba Ramdeo will also be invited as guests.

The festival, now in its golden jubilee, will conclude with rendering of classical music. Bhajan Numero UNO Anup Jalota and Vivek Agrawal will render Bhajan singing at the inaugural function.

Staging of Kalidas plays in Sanskrit, Hindi and folk-style, besides classical dance and music programmes would be organised during the week-long festival, according to Kalidas Sanskrit Academy Director Prof Mithila Prasad Tripathi.

Prominent artists from across the country will be invited for the festival.
