Ahmedabad, Feb 17 (UNI) Supreme Yarns Limited (SYL), a leading manufacturer of yarns, garments and hosiery, is setting up new manufacturing facilities for spinning, dyeing, knitting and garment in Ludhiana.
Talking to reporters here today, SYL managing director Sanjay Gupta said the company will invest about Rs 240 crore in the new integrated manufacturing facility, for which land has already been acquired and construction has started in Ludhiana, close to the existing facilities.
He said ''The company's focus on growth is by being present in the entire value chain of garment making -- right from yarn making to finished garments, all with world-class machinery and infrastructure.'' The new spinning unit will add 30,000 spindles and 720 rotors to the spinning capacity. The dyeing unit will add another 17 tonnes per day of cone/hank/fibre dyeing to the existing capacity, while a garment/knitting unit will have the installed capacity of 30,000 pieces per day, he said.
To a poser, Mr Gupta said for its new garment unit, his company has already initiated talks with various US and European brands, which have shown a keen interest in placing their orders as soon as the manufacturing unit is ready.
With the booming retail market in India, the upcoming retail chains have also evinced interest in sourcing their garment requirements from SYL, he said and added that yet another avenue of growth, being considered by the company, is to come up with its own brand of garments.
