Tribal Christians reconvert to Hinduism

Rourkela, Dec 26 (UNI) At least 78 tribals belonging to sixteen families from Balilepta, Gudguda, Chikitia, Sorada and Bhojpur were reconverted to Hinduism at ceremony organised by Viswa Hindu Parishad in Chikitia village under Nuagaon block of Sundergarh district yesterday.
Those who embraced Hinduism were presented with a locket each bearing imprints of Hindu deities and new cloths by VHP functionaries present on the occasion.
Senior VHP leaders of the district such as Achutananda Kar, Pradyumna Mishra, Gadadhar Sahu, Makaradhyaja Mahanto, Ajay Barnawal and Mitrabhanu Panda attended the ceremony.
Later a meeting was held welcoming the tribal Christians on their return to the Hindu religion.
