Sunil's family family vacation

Sunil Shetty is going off on a six-week holiday to USA with his entire family. It's time to chill, as his two releases, Chup Chup Ke and Phir Hera Pheri, have taken very good openings.

He will be attending the IIFA awards in Dubai after which he will be taking off for a six-week long holiday to the USA with his family.

Was this holiday planned? "In a way. There is a wedding in the family, and I am going to attend that. I have a lot of relatives living in the US, so it will be a grand reunion time.

My entire family including my father, who hasn't been keeping well, mom, wife and children will be going. I am looking forward to the break. I am contented and very happy today with my two releases doing very well.

Not all play
Today, I am leaving for the IIFA in Dubai with my kids and will be taking off for the States after that. I am taking four-five scripts along with me which I shall be reading and finalising there. I have all the time in the world to pick and choose my scripts now. The best thing is that I am not doing any work in these six weeks. Life is at an all-time high!" Sunil smiles.

Priyan: Ghar ki baat
Last week, Sunil was apprehensive with two of his films releasing at the same time. "I was, but today I am happy that both the films have been well-received. I have got appreciation for my performance too. Phir Hera Pheri has taken a bigger opening than Fanaa in a number of places.

If the successful spell continues for a few more days it's bound to become a super-hit. I am very happy for Priyadarshan that all his films are doing well. He's directing my home production, Bhagam Bhag which has Akshay in it. We are having the next schedule in London this month."

Akki is a dost
Talking about Akshay? Aren't they supposed to be at loggerheads over Phir Hera Pheri. Sunil smiles and says, "Doesn't it say it all that he's acting in my home production? If we had a problem, do you think he would have done that? Akki is a good friend.

Apart from the fact that both of us haven't been in town for the last few weeks (Akshay in Spain and Thailand) all I will say is that this is the best times that Akshay and I are having together. It's a phase where my relationship with him is at its best. Never has our friendship been better."

Sunil is thrilled that he's at a phase where he can pick and choose his films. "I have seen success and failure and then success again followed by failure. Today, I want to do good films. I might have done bad films for emotional reasons, but today I have become more practical.

I will do a film even for free but I won't do a bad film for a friend. I will put in all my resources and make sure that it's a good film," says Sunil with resolve and adds, "I have had 17 years in the film industry. Today I want to be sure that I will continue for 17 years more..."
