Guinea Pigs can be best pets as they are small in size and can be carried whenever you plan to travel. There origination comes from the high mountains of south America. They are domesticated for only as pets but even for food. there are wide variety of guinea pigs. Guinea Pig Pet Care Tips -

1. The furry animals are friendly and can live for 4-8 years. When they are excited, they jump. They can be caged and need to be kept tidy.
2. The Pigs can't be alone and would want a companion so having two guinea pigs of the same sex will be the best way.
3. One of the favorite diet of guinea pigs is hay. They love cedar chips, saw dust etc. So treat them with fresh fruits and vegetables high in vitamin C as that is their favorite nutrition.
4. Give them plenty of water to drink and do not try rabbit foods or other supplements as that doesn't suit the guinea pig diet.
5. Trim their nails as they may may cratch your entire floor. Guines pigs like rough flooring.
6. Brush them with a stiff brush to get rid of the loose hair. Inspect the ears and skin for mites and fleas.
7. Guinea pigs do not like water so do not give it a bath as it may injure you in panic. Do not expose fopr sunlight too much.
8. Wheels, balls and plastic blocks can be used to keep them active.
