This prevents unwanted scratches and stains on the wooden floor. You can also use rug mat to cover the floor base and prevent scratches. Avoid pulling or moving the furniture without covering the floor. If possible, lift the furniture. This protects the furniture as well as the floor from breakage.

Bringing Shoes Inside: This is one of the most common things we do every day which damages the wooden floor. When you bring mud and dirt filled shoes inside, it will create scratches on the floor. Often a lot of people do not keep door mat or tray outside the house to clean the shoes before entering the house. This allows dirt and small stones to enter and spoil the wooden flooring as well.

Using Wrong Rub-Pad: Rubber mesh pads can discolour the wooden floor and also reduce its shine. To keep the shine of the wooden floor intact and prevent the colour from fading away, prefer felt and rubber pad for cleaning.

Wet Cleaning: Mopping the wooden floor using too much water damages the quality of wood gradually. You do not need to wet-clean them more than once every one to two months. Vacuum cleaning and dry cleaning are preferred to maintain the wooden floor and keep them shiny.

Pet Nails: Pets are a good companion. However, pet nails can show results on the wooden floor. If you have pets at home, then you need to cut their nails and maintain hygiene. It is one of the best ways to protect your wooden floor and maintain them as well.
